Bórd na n-Óg

SALLINS GAA Bord na nÓg section

The underage section of the club continues to grow from strength to strength with our largest ever number of children currently competing at all ages from u7s through to u16s and in both codes of hurling and football. This is very evident at the very young ages where we have entered two and in some cases three teams at the same age for the very first this year.

We tasted county Féíle success in 2006 with our u14s winning both the football and hurling finals in this very prestigious competition. Some of the players from this team are currently part of the senior squads. In recent years we have won north board and county competitions at u12s, u13s, u14s and u16s.  Our players regularly feature in development and full county squads. Indeed in 2010 we had two representatives on the county minor football squad and one this year. With the ever increasing numbers playing with us we are hoping for more success in the coming years.

Football training is mainly on Sunday mornings (9.30 to 12) down at the club grounds where we cater for age groups from u6s right up to u11s. Other age groups train at different times during the week. Hurling training is on Mondays from 6pm for age groups from u7s to u11s, with other age groups training at different times during the week. If you are interested in joining up, you and your children will be sure of a very warm welcome from our group of dedicated coaches.
