posted 30 Oct 2012, 04:17 by James Lawless
The under 13 girls  played at home this morning in the semifinal against  Athy .
The game was played in lovely sunshine  with a great support for both sides .

Robert Emmetts  got off to a flying start and with scores coming from Eimear O Flaherty Jenny Cullen Claire Nugent and Chloe Reville  all before Athy scored their first point. Emmetts played well all over the field with the backs defending well and cleared the ball well back up to their forwards  who scored  2 g and 6 p 's in the first half to Athy’s 3 points.

The second half saw Athy come out fighting  but the girls from Emmetts put up a super second half display of football . With Lauren Raggett Leah Mc Cormack  getting on the score board and Claire and Jenny adding to their earlier tally . Athy never gave up playing and scored 3 more p s  but the girls from Robert Emmetts played to the final whistle  to what was over all a complete super team performance all the way from the keeper Katie Hughes to the subs who came on.

Well done girls and to all involved.

Robert Emmetts  under 9 s hosted a blitz on Saturday morning . With Emmetts putting out 2 teams  along side Clane, Eadestown, Sarsfield and Rathangan there was plenty of football and lots of skill shown by all the girls and played in a very friendly fashion . In what was a glorious morning and plenty of support for all the girls there was some very entertaining football played . To finish off tea and cakes and lots of treats for all . All went home happy and a big thanks to all involved .
