Sallins continued their unbeaten run in the Tom Cross SFL Division 3 with a six point home win over Ardclough last Friday night.
It took Sallins only one minute to open their account for the evening with a free kick from Eamonn McCormack after Brian Jones was impeded.
Ardclough however proved that Sallins weren`t going to have it easy as they took the lead in the space of 5 minutes, first a point from Barry Griffin followed by another from Ronan Maguire.
Then it was Sallins` turn to score two points to take the lead through Niall Herbert and Fergal Nugent respectively before Ardclough pulled a point back to draw the sides level with a score from Andrew Conway.
This was the last time the sides would be level throughout the remainder of the game as Sallins scored 3 points on the trot with two free kicks from Eamonn McCormack and a point from Johnny McNulty.
Barry Griffin hit back for Ardclough before the visitors conceded a penalty as full back John Coulston fouled on rushing Derek Walsh. Eamonn McCormack calmly converted the resulting penalty strectching their lead to five points.
McCormack himself got the last three scores of the half giving Sallins an eight point lead at the break with the score 1-9 to 0-4
Ardclough opened the scoring for the second half with a point from Fergus Burke before Sallins half forward Damien Behan got his name on the scoresheet with two points in quick succession.
Barry Griffin then used the wind to his advantage, kicking a point from just inside the Sallins half.
The last ten minutes saw eight scores, five for Ardclough with points from Steven Kirwan, Barry Griffin, Niall Coulston and two free kicks from Tristan McGarr while Sallins` points came from Eamonn McCormack, Damien Behan and substitute Damien Stephens leaving the final score
