Competition: U13 Boys Football League Division 3

Venue: Eadestown GAA

Result: Sallins 5-13 Eadestown 2-16

The U13 Boys Footballers travelled to the so far unbeaten Eadestown on a very wet evening on Wednesday.  Surprisingly the pitch was firm and this made for an exciting game of free flowing open football.  Eadestown started strongly winning the throw in and the first few kick outs and managed to get some early scores but Sallins gradually began to find their feet and started to take their opportunities.  A goal just before half time saw Sallins in front 2-7 to 1-8 at the break.  The game continued in the same vain in the second half with both teams playing quick attacking football, however Sallins were able to get 3 goals at important times and were always able to keep their noses in front.  Eadestown threw everything at us in the last few minutes but some great defending and goalkeeping meant Sallins held on for the win.  This result gives the lads a great chance to qualify for the semi-finals with just one group game left against Newtown Gaels on Sunday morning in Sallins.  These boys are playing some great stuff so come out and support them if you can.  Scorers were Ryan McCarthy 2-0, Conor Keane 1-5, Colm Dalton 1-4, Ciaran Mangan 1-1, Stephen Kelly 0-2, John Prendiville 0-1.
